About Dr. Moghissi

Dr. Jasmine Moghissi was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, and immigrated to the United States as a toddler. She has lived all over the US, and moved to the Washington, DC area in the 1970’s. She attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate. In 1988 she received her Doctorate of Medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, and her residency at Fairfax Family Practice Center, a VCU School of Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Moghissi has been teaching medical students from various medical schools since completing her residency in 1991. She is board certified in Family Practice, and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Medical Society of Northern Virginia.

After being in group practice in Northern Virginia for eleven years, she opened her solo practice in 2002.  She felt that in a small practice she would be better able to serve her patients in a personalized manner.  She elected to join Privia Medical Group in 2014 to allow her to continue to offer her patients the advantages of a small practice while having the advantage of a larger infrastructure.

On a personal level, Dr. Moghissi has lived in Vienna since 1988, is married, and has two adult children.  She plays viola in the Reston Community Orchestra along with local chamber groups, classical piano, does needlework, knits, and is interested in almost everything.

Our Collaboration with Prima Medicine

We’re proud to announce a collaboration with Prima Medicine, another Privia Practice! We recognize that it can be much too difficult to get an appointment with us at times, so Dr. Moghissi has decided to partner with another local practice to offer more availability options for our patients.

Prima Medicine, led by Dr. Chethana Rao, is a well-respected primary care practice which is actively expanding. Prima much better availability for appointments, especially if you need to be seen quickly. They have several locations, and have recently moved into our space, so you will be able to be seen at the same location as always when you see one of their providers.

Prima Medicine has 2 providers who will be seeing patients in our mutual office daily: Siddique Toghral, MD and Alexa Kulick, PA

Our intention is not to abandon you; we’d love to continue seeing you as long as you would like to remain our patients. But even we recognize that wait times for our appointments have become ridiculously long, and we do not feel it is always in the best interest of our patients if you must wait months to be seen.

We hope you have no need to be seen quickly, but if you do, we hope you take advantage of this opportunity to get to know one of these excellent practitioners by allowing them to care for you. And, since we are both Privia practices, all the providers in both practices will have full access to your medical records.

One more thing-Dr. Moghissi values each and every one of her patients, but she realizes that she does not have the time to care for everyone in the manner that she believes appropriate. If you decide that you would like to become a regular patient of Dr. Toghral or Alex Kulick, PA, please do not hesitate to switch over to them. We want what is best for our patients, and if that means becoming regular patients of one of these excellent practitioners, then we support that 100%. After all, the purpose of this collaboration is to prove the best possible, most timely care for our patients!

To book an appointment with Prima Medicine, you can request online, call their appointment line at 703-870-3750, or just call our office and ask for an appointment with them.

Thank you so much for being our patients in the past, present, and, for many of you, in the future. We wish you all the best of health!
