Belotero is the newest FDA injectable filler available in the USA and is unique in several ways. The biggest advantage of Belotero is that it can be injected very close to the surface for fine lines and wrinkles. This is important, as the other available fillers are too thick to be injected superficially because they can leave a thickened line, lumps and/or a bluish tint, especially in areas of thinner skin. Belotero is engineered specifically for superficial injection, but it can also be used like conventional fillers for deep wrinkles and lips. The advantage of Belotero is that improvements are noticeable but discreet, so that your face will look younger without looking like you've had treatment.
Belotero Balance can treat many common facial problems associated with aging:
- Periorbital lines ("crow’s feet") around the eyes
- Perioral lines ("smoker's lines") around the mouth and lips
- Vertical glabellar ("frown") lines on the forehead
- Nasolabial folds ("laugh lines"), which run from the nose to the corners of the mouth
- "Marionette" lines, which run from the mouth to the jaw
It is also effective for augmenting the lips and cheeks and for correcting small facial depressions caused by acne or an injury. And it can rejuvenate aging, crepe-paper-thin skin
Belotero Balance injections take 15 to 30 minutes and may involve some minor discomfort. Expect some redness, swelling and bruising that will typically resolve in a week. The results are immediate and last six to 12 months.
